People matter to God, we want God to matter to people, and because people matter to us, we want to be a BRIDGE to help them get from where they are to where God wants them to be.

(John 3:16, Luke 19:5-10, 2 Corinthians 5:20, 1 Thessalonians 1:8)

We take God at His word.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

2 Timothy 3: 16-17

We are all about expanding the family.

““Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Doesn’t she light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it?  And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.’  In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

Luke 15:8-10

Growing people change and we will take individual responsibility for our faith.

“For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge;  and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness;  and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.  For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

2 Peter 1:5-8

We invest in the next generation.

“Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.”

Philippians 4:9

We believe that prayer is foundational to all we do.

“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”

Ephesians 6:18

Authenticity in our worship is what we strive for.

“Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.”

Colossians 3:16

We know that we are better together.

“And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone.  Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else.”

1 Thessalonians 5:14-15

We will lead the way with radical generosity.

You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.  Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else.”

2 Corinthians 9:11-13

Serving people is the norm around here and everyone has a role to play.

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms..”

1 Peter 4:10

He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The three are coequal and are one God.

(Genesis 1:1, 26, 27, 3:22, Psalm 90:2, Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14)

He is coequal with the Father and Holy Spirit. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He rose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven and will return again someday to earth to reign as King.

(Matthew 1:22, 23, Isaiah 9:6, John 1:1-5, Hebrews 4:14-15, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, Romans 1:3-4, Acts 1:9-11, Colossians 2:9-10,
1 Timothy 6:14-15)

The Holy Spirit is coequal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides Christians with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer spiritual gifts when they are saved. As Christians we seek to live under His control daily.

(Acts 1:8, John 14:16-17, 16:7-13, Galatians 5:25, 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16, Ephesians 1:13, 2 Corinthians 13:14, 1 Peter 1:2)

(2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20-21, Psalm 119:105, 160, 12:6, Proverbs 30:5, Isaiah 55:11)

People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin.” Sin separates us from God and causes many problems in our life.

(Genesis 1:27, Isaiah 53:6, Romans 3:23, Isaiah 59:1-2, Psalm 139:13-16, Colossians 2:13-15)

We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into their life by faith.

(Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9, John 14:6, Romans 5:1, 8, 10:9-10)

Because God gives man eternal life through Jesus Christ, the believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and eternal power of God that gives this security.

(John 10:29, Jude 1:24, Ephesians 4:30, Romans 8:38-39)

People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is eternal life in hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life in Heaven. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence.

(John 3:16, 14:17, Romans 6:23, Revelation 20:15, Philippians 2:5-11, Matthew 25:31-34, 41)

Once we have accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior, baptism is a way for us to publicly declare our new life in Christ. It is also a step of obedience based on God’s commands and allows us to follow the example of Jesus, who submitted himself to baptism to “fulfill all righteousness.”

(Matthew 3:16-17, 28:18-20, Acts 2:41, 8:12, Romans 6:4, Colossians 2:12)

At Lakeside Church we understand that we are called to stand in the GAPS for one another.

Through sacrificial giving we believe God will be honored, the church will be united, and lives will be changed forever.

By attending church gatherings we believe that worshipping Jesus together is powerful and encouraging, community is messy and amazing, and the fact that God would use us is pretty awesome.

Worship services are Sunday mornings at 9:00am and 10:45am.

In our prayer lives we will recognize God as our Father and that He is holy, trust that God will accomplish His purpose and not our plans, have the confidence that God will provide for today and trust Him for tomorrow, and we will repent of the things we have done wrong and let go of the wrong things done to us.

As we serve others we believe that it allows us to experience purpose and fulfillment, surrounds us with other Christians who can help us follow Jesus, increases our faith, and allows us to experience God’s presence in new ways.

We offer a New Member Class several times during the year. If you are interested in learning more about Lakeside Church at Lake Oconee, and want to consider joining as a member, please let us know! We’ll make sure you get registered for the next New Member Class.
