Casual family atmosphere with groups for everyone.
We look forward to seeing you on Sunday mornings at Lakeside.
Every week we will be posting biblical thoughts from the Pastors and Leadership Team.
Henry Drummond , a Scottish evangelist, said "The greatest thing a man can do for his Heavenly Father is to be kind to His other children." Our true character as a Christ follower is judged more by our actions than by our words. An act of kindness is something everyone can understand. People want and need to know how much we care , not how much we know. Jesus said "A new command I give you : Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
Memory Verse for the week: John 13:34-35
STAND FIRM, DO NOT BE SHAKEN
Don't let discouragement over an apparent lack of results keep you from working. Do the good that you have an opportunity to do, knowing that your work will have eternal results. "Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain."
Memory Verse for the week: 1 Corinthians 15:58
I still remember the last few weeks of 8th grade math. My teacher, Mrs. Eddleman, was introducing us to algebra. I had always loved math up to that point. As soon as she started algebra with us, my poor mind could not comprehend how letters and numbers would work together in the same equation. It made no sense to me. The thoughts of God are that same way to us often. We try and try to figure out what God is doing and our feeble minds can’t! Isaiah tells us this is Isaiah 55:8 where he says, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.” We cannot comprehend the thoughts and ways of God - it’s His plan. All we need to do is trust Him, read His word and follow His will. Mrs. Eddleman understood algebra and was able to teach it to me. God knows His will for our lives and we must allow Him to show it to us day by day, step by step.
Memory Verse for the week: Isaiah 55:8
When a farmer plants a particular seed he is sure of what plant the seed will yield. We are spiritual farmers in relation to our actions. It takes diligence to avoid sins of the flesh. “When we live just to please our fleshly desires and passions we will reap corruption by coveting what is not ours.” Ask God to guard your heart and change your desires to the fruits of the spirit, for here we find eternal life!
Memory Verse for the week: Galatians 6:7-8
